Incubator without Walls at Lyndon State College is the leader in developing the skilled work force that powers Northeast Kingdom economic growth. We provide a wide array of programs and services designed to prepare individual students and businesses for success in the workplace and the regional economy.
Alliances are our strength. We draw upon the resources and services of our partners to best meet a small business’ specific growth need. Our partners include:
Lyndon State College (LSC)
VT Small Business Development Corporation (Vt SBDC)
Northern Vermont Development Association (NVDA)
Northern Community Investment Corporation (NCIC)
University of Vermont Extension (Newport)
Northeast Kingdom Travel and Tourism Association (NEKTTA)
The Charlie E. Carter Business Resource Center
We proactively engage Lyndon State College faculty and students with small businesses to assess their needs, define optimal business performance steps, and propose solutions with execution in mind.
There is no single physical location for IWoW as it concentrates instead on managing a network of enterprise support services. Funded by a USDB Rural Development grant, IWoW has expanded its original service area- the greater Newport area- to the entire Northeast Kingdom.

Ms. Nygard was IWoW’s inaugural director, launching IWoW in 2007. She returned to her native Northeast Kingdom after a two year commitment with National Geographic Society’s Center for Sustainable Destinations in Washington, D.C. where she served as Associate Director. She was appointed Geotourism Expert for the Intercontinental Hotel Group in 2008, overseeing workforce training program development and rollout for its 60,000 employees worldwide.
From 2005 to 2007, Nygard was executive director of Northeast Kingdom Travel and Tourism Association, where she worked under a number of USDA Rural Development grants. She pioneered the National Geographic Northeast Kingdom Geotourism Program, resulting in the Geotourism MapGuide of the Northeast Kingdom connecting NEK businesses to the global market by featuring local products and services. She has lived and worked for 13 years in Finland, Sweden, the UK, France and Rwanda. She was employed by Tiffany & Co. as a fragrance distributor in London and as an international marketing analyst in New York City.
